How to Use the Revert to Draft Plugin
The Revert to Draft plugin allows you to take a completed record and move it back to "draft" status. This can be helpful if you need to reopen or revise a submission.
Follow the steps below to install, configure, and use the plugin effectively.
What the Plugin Does
When installed and configured correctly, the Revert to Draft plugin:
- Adds a "Revert to Draft" button on completed records.
- Moves the record to a designated "draft" folder on that form.
- Marks the record with a "Draft" icon for easy identification.
Step 1: Open Plugin Settings
- Go to your workspace and click on Settings & Tools.
- Look under Plugin Settings for the Revert to Draft plugin.
✅ If the plugin is listed, click on it to begin setup.
❌ If you don’t see it, please contact support so we can help you add it to your workspace.
Step 2: Assign a Folder to Each Form
Once inside the plugin settings, you’ll see a list of your forms.
- Scroll through the list and find the form(s) you'd like to enable the plugin on.
- Each form must have a folder assigned for reverted drafts to be placed into.
- If your form does not have any folders, you will need to go back and create at least one folder for that form before continuing.
- If folders already exist, click the dropdown next to the form name and select the folder you'd like the draft records to go into.
- After assigning folders for the applicable forms, scroll to the bottom of the plugin settings page and click Save.
Step 3: Test the Plugin
- Go to the form you just configured.
- View any existing completed record.
- You should now see the Revert to Draft button on the record view page.
Clicking this button will:
- Change the record’s status back to "Draft"
- Move the record into the folder you selected
- Display a draft icon on the record
You're all set! The plugin is now ready to use whenever you need to revert a submission back to draft status.
Troubleshooting
If you don’t see the "Revert to Draft" button:
- Check that the plugin is installed via "Settings & Tools" > "Plugins."
- Confirm that a folder is assigned to the form (see Step 2).
Try refreshing the page after setting the folder or using the plugin.
